Plot Description
Neftali is an inspirational child who embraces his uniqueness and artistic nature, but soon discovers that his abusive father is opposed to his creativity and immagination. Fortunately, Neftali had the love and support from a step-mother and an uncle who were ultimately as brave as he. Although, Neftali was ridiculed by his father, his ability to find strength and perseverence in himself, allows him to rise above and become one of the most read poets in the world.

The Dreamer, written by Pam Munoz Ryan is a phenomenal rendition of child who perseveres in following his dreams, despite the torment and anguish he faces throughout his chldhood journey to embrace his creativity and uniqueness. This book contains 372 pages of large text, headings and complimentary illustrations depicting the thoughts and creative journey of Neftali. The tone and fable-like style of writing lends to an engaging quality of interaction and imagination.
